Business Connect Spotlight: Woodland Warner Flowers

The Partner Perspective series is an opportunity to hear from LASEC Business Connect member companies and the high-powered local, diverse entrepreneurs behind them. Today’s focus is Jameela Baliwala, Co-Founder of Woodland Warner Flowers.

LASEC: Tell us about your company and what you do.

Jameela Baliwala: We are a family-owned flower shop that offers floral services ranging from the grandest of events to unique daily arrangements. We have been proudly serving the San Fernando Valley and the Greater Los Angeles Area for the past 31 years. Our exceptional team has a diverse background in floral design – allowing us to create customizable and tailored arrangements for every occasion.

How has being part of the LASEC Business Connect program benefitted your business?

Being part of the LASEC Business Connect program has helped our business become more visible because it has provided us with an opportunity to get out and meet people face-to-face who we may not have come across otherwise. We have been able to develop important relationships over time, some of which have led to promising referrals.

Have you been awarded a contract as part of the Business Connect program? If so, what was the project?

We have been given the opportunity to showcase our work at multiple Business Connect mixers. We were also contracted by Los Angeles Tourism to provide flowers for their Market Outlook Forum this year.

Is there a lesson or key takeaway from a Business Connect training that sticks out to you?

The key takeaway from the program is to stay connected, be persistent and build relationships with fellow Business Connect members. Give your 100% to each project, no matter how big or small, to leave a lasting impression as a trusted supplier.
