Bricia Lopez tells Guelaguetza’s story and why Super Bowl LVI brings hope for her restaurant’s economic comeback.

Over the past three decades, Bricia Lopez and her family have built Los Angeles’ award-winning Guelaguetza into the best Oaxacan restaurant in the country. But when COVID-19 dealt a devastating blow to the hospitality industry, Guelaguetza had to lay off more than half their staff just to keep their doors open. She believes major events, like the 2022 Super Bowl, offer hope to small business owners like herself who are eager to recover and rebuild. “The Super Bowl is going to be the beginning of L.A.’s biggest comeback,” Bricia said.
