MLB’s All-Star festivities in Los Angeles this week were a hit locally. The three days of MLB All-Star ballpark events — including the Futures Game and Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday, the Home Run Derby on Monday and the All-Star Game on Tuesday — generated a combined attendance of 152,182 at Dodger Stadium, making it the most-attended series of All-Star ballpark events in 14 years. Additionally, Dodger Stadium set an All-Star ballpark merchandise sales record, surpassing the previous record by more than 60% over the 2008 All-Star events at Yankee Stadium.
