The Partner Perspective series is an opportunity to hear from LASEC Business Connect member companies and the high-powered local, diverse entrepreneurs behind them. Today’s focus is Susan Levine, Chief Executive Officer of Career Group Companies.
LASEC: Tell us about your company and what you do.
Susan Levine: Career Group Companies (CGC) is a recruiting firm, which provides partners with their most important asset, people. I created an approach that instilled my clients and candidates with confidence that I would be finding them their long-term careers, not just a job.
How has being part of the LASEC Business Connect program benefitted your business?
By partnering with Business Connect, we were able to enhance our visibility of our firm and provide work for their program partners. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunities provided by the Business Connect program has given us the chance to showcase the work that we do and illustrate our high standards with the top-tier, most highly coveted sporting events.
Have you been awarded a contract as part of the Business Connect program? If so, what was the project?
Yes, CGC was awarded the opportunity to recruit and staff for Super Bowl LVI, the 2022 MLB All-Star Game, and the 2023 College Football Championship in Los Angeles. Following Super Bowl LVI, we were awarded the opportunity to staff the Tailgate Party at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona!
Is there a lesson or key takeaway from a Business Connect training that sticks out to you?
It is important to take advantage of all the Business Connect resources, from presenters to advisors and members. I learned that it is highly encouraged to ask questions and seize the opportunity to learn from the Business Connect network. Make sure you’re always communicating clearly and concisely whether in a meeting, presentation, proposal, or even just an email.
